ABN AMRO is pleased to announce that Gitte van Haaren has been appointed as the new CEO of ABN AMRO Hypotheken Groep B.V. Subject to regulatory approval of her appointment, she will assume her duties on 1 August 2023 and become responsible for the consumer client mortgage portfolios of ABN AMRO and its subsidiaries. Gitte van Haaren succeeds Claire Dumas, who left ABN AMRO on 1 March 2023 to pursue other career opportunities.

Personal & Business Banking CCO Annerie Vreugdenhil comments, “We are very happy to appoint Gitte van Haaren to this role. She brings more than 30 years’ experience and a broad understanding of the banking sector. She also possesses specific expertise and experience with lending and mortgages thanks to her time as COO of Rabobank’s mortgage subsidiary Obvion. We are looking forward to working with Gitte, and we wish her the best of luck in her new role.”

Gitte van Haaren: “I am eager to start working with the passionate and ambitious team at ABN AMRO to facilitate the transition towards more sustainable and future-proof homeownership where the client’s interests come first.”

Gitte van Haaren’s career began at Rabobank in 1992. Since then, she has held various commercial and executive positions at local branches, the central organisation and Rabobank’s subsidiary Obvion. During her tenure on Obvion’s Management Board, her duties as head of the Operations unit included responsibility for optimising reliable client acceptance and lending processes, for both the contracting and management phases. In her most recent role as Chief Compliance Officer Retail NL, she was one of the executives responsible for Rabobank’s legal compliance and for encouraging its people to be compliant and place their clients’ interests first.
