ABN AMRO discontinues financing for pilot training
As from September 2016, ABN AMRO will no longer extend new loans to students starting a course at one of the Dutch flight training schools. Until that time, new loan applications will be assessed very carefully.
ABN AMRO has been offering pilot financing solutions since 1993. The bank has experienced both the ups and the downs in this industry, especially the latter in recent years. ABN AMRO has reconsidered its future in this market and has come to the conclusion that, under the current conditions, this activity no longer fits in with its product offering. The bank will therefore discontinue this financing. ABN AMRO is aware of its responsibility to the approximately 150 student pilots currently in training and will fulfil its agreements with them. The bank will do everything in its power to enable these students to complete their training.
