Final outcome of Dow Jones Sustainability Index

ABN AMRO ranks among the top 5% of the most sustainable banks in the world. This was concluded in the recently published RobecoSAM 2019 Sustainability Yearbook, the most important measure of sustainability for our bank.

ABN AMRO received the Silver Class distinction for its sustainability performance. Every year, RobecoSAM assesses over 3,000 listed companies on their economic, social and environmental policies.

ABN AMRO scored significantly higher than the sector average in the categories Environmental Reporting, Human Rights and Materiality. In addition, the bank’s efforts to promote transparency on social and environmental issues were highly rated. ABN AMRO’s work in the area of environmental policy and environmental management was also confirmed, with the bank scoring high in several categories.

Kees van Dijkhuizen, CEO of ABN AMRO, is pleased with the bank’s progress on the sustainability front, which was achieved together with many colleagues and clients. “I’m proud of the recognition we have received from RobecoSAM. Key indicator

ABN AMRO wants to make an impact, together with its clients. The bank uses the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) as one of the key indicators of its sustainability performance. Maintaining its position in the top 5% is one of the KPIs included in the bank’s strategy.
