Blow-out anniversary special
This year the Dutch Green Building Week is being held for the tenth time, with ABN AMRO once again being the lead sponsor. Annemarie van Doorn, Director of DGBC, is delighted: “I already mentioned our longstanding relationship at last year’s event, and this tenth year with ABN AMRO as lead sponsor underscores that again.” The anniversary edition will revolve around a special theme: #MadeInHolland. So get ready for a week full of inspiring speakers and experts, from the Netherlands and beyond. And what better place to host a large part of the programme than at one of the most sustainable buildings in the Netherlands – Circl.
Green Talks
ABN AMRO’s brand new CEO Robert Swaak will be playing a part in the event too, in conversation with TV presenter Twan Huys and Annemarie van Doorn in the online talk show Green Talks. What steps is ABN AMRO actually taking around sustainable building? Without giving too much away, in the bank has set itself an ambitious goal around the sustainability of the real estate we finance as well as our own buildings. Green Talks will explore in detail what that means in practice and how realistic the bank’s aspirations are.
Several of ABN AMRO’s experts will be diving deep into sustainable building to share their knowledge and experience during the week. Sandra Phlippen, ABN AMRO’s Chief Economist, will look at how the Netherlands can reclaim its role as a pioneer in the global community. Petran van Heel, Sector Banker Construction & Real Estate, talks to Hein Brekelmans, head of the Sustainable Finance Desk. They unveil the obstacles we face on the road to a circular economy and show us how we can overcome them. Petran also talks to ABN AMRO’s Global Sustainability Advisor Jan Raes about the role banks can play in sustainable construction and development. You can read more about these sessions and much more in the programme.
