ABN AMRO has taken note of the decision of the Public Prosecution Service (OM) to dismiss the cases against all four former directors Gerrit Zalm, Kees van Dijkhuizen, Chris Vogelzang and Joop Wijn.

This decision brings to an end a long period of uncertainty for those involved, and we sympathize with the relief they and their families are now experiencing.

Our appreciation goes to the former directors for their dedication and patience during this intensive period of investigations and proceedings.

The decision of the Public Prosecution Service has no direct impact on the bank itself, as ABN AMRO reached a settlement with the Public Prosecution Service in April 2021 in connection with ABN AMRO's compliance with its obligations under the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act (Wwft) between 2014-2020.
