ABN AMRO confirms capital requirements for 2022

As part of the 2021 exercise of the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process ("SREP"), the European Central Bank has notified ABN AMRO Bank of its final decision regarding the capital requirements for 2022. The Pillar 2 additional own funds requirement remained unchanged at 2%.

The CET1 requirement is unchanged at 9.6% and consists of a Pillar 1 minimum requirement of 4.5%, a Pillar 2 requirement of 1.13%, a capital conservation buffer of 2.5% and a 1.5% O-SII buffer. The counter cyclical buffer for 2022 is currently 2bps.

ABN AMRO’s CET1 position of 17.8% at the end of the third quarter of 2021 is well above the required minimum of 9.6%.

The Maximum Distributable Amount (MDA) trigger level under Basel III for 2022 is 9.6% (excluding AT1 shortfall).
