ABN AMRO closes the acquisition of Societe Generale Private Banking Belgium

On 30 July 2018, ABN AMRO announced the acquisition of Societe Generale Private Banking NV, the private banking subsidiary of Societe Generale in Belgium.
The required regulatory and merger control approvals have been obtained and the transaction was completed on 28 February 2019.
By combining ABN AMRO’s existing private banking activities in Belgium with those of Societe Generale, ABN AMRO strengthens its market position in Belgium and its position in the Eurozone as a leading private bank. Assets under Management in Belgium have doubled to approximately EUR 12bn. The acquisition has a minor impact on the CET1 capital ratio of ABN AMRO.
