The results have been announced for the Partnership Verkiezing, an annual contest in which young professionals compete by submitting a socially relevant business case. In this edition, ABN AMRO was represented by ABetterNature. The team’s business case aims to restore biodiversity in the Netherlands and won them all three of the awards in this contest.

The ABN AMRO team received the Audience Award, the Young Jury Award and the prize for the Best Partnership and Business Case. An extraordinary achievement and unprecedented in the history of the contest. Congratulations to team members Neha Morey, Puck Rozendaal, Sida Nakrosyte, Lea Ajonye and Bodil Koppejan!

The winning business case

For their business case, the members of ABetterNature worked hard for eight months to create a parametric insurance model. The case aims to safeguard crops during the transition to regenerative farming practices and offer farmers insurance against crop diseases so that they no longer have to rely on the harmful pesticides currently used. Mitigating the financial risks in this way and spreading the risks across multiple stakeholders will enable farmers to switch to sustainable agriculture. The concept will now be further developed, tested and expanded.
