German authorities raid ABN AMRO office in Frankfurt
On Thursday morning, the German public prosecutor raided ABN AMRO’s office in Frankfurt, Germany.
It is common knowledge that the German authorities have for some years been investigating equity transactions carried out by a large number of financial institutions involving dividend arbitrage, including cum/ex transactions.
The legal predecessor of ABN AMRO, Fortis Bank (Nederland) N.V., ABN AMRO and a few (former) subsidiaries were directly or indirectly involved in a number of these transactions. More information about this is available on .
ABN AMRO is cooperating fully with all requests and investigations by the German authorities. Currently, there are no disputes between the German tax authorities and ABN AMRO relating to these transactions.
