We are pleased to welcome Jonathan Pughe to ABN AMRO UK as Managing Director, Loan Syndicate
As Managing Director, Loan Syndicate, Jonathan Pughe will be working closely with Coverage, Structured Finance and Loan Markets Origination to underwrite, price and distribute syndicated loans for our clients.
Jonathan brings with him considerable experience and an impressive track record. He started his banking career on the graduate program in Barclays in 1990. In 1996 he moved into Syndications with BZW and then Barclays Capital working on Origination, Sales and Execution for Continental European and Middle Eastern Clients. After a 2 year stint at Société Générale in Syndicate and Origination, he moved to RBS in 2007 to run Loan Syndicate and Sales for all their UK and European clients.
As Jonathan notes, ABN AMRO is already a leading bank in the syndicated loan market and bringing his skills and experience across Corporates, Financial Institutions and Structured Finance he will be able to further enhance its reputation and help win more high profile business, create stronger links with clients and increase the monetisation of the lending product which remains a fundamental building block in developing client relationships.
Speaking about his new role Jonathan said,
In my 25 years in the syndicated loan business, I have been fortunate enough to have worked with (and sometimes against) ABN. The people and the culture are a key reasons for joining as well as the bank's dedication to growing a very client focused business. 25 years in the same banking discipline may seem odd to some but I can honestly say that I still love every minute of it.
