Finalising the compensation for floating interest on revolving credit facilities
Next week ABN AMRO will advertise notices across a range of national and regional media, calling former clients to register for the compensation for overpaid past interest. Compensation is available to consumers who paid floating interest on a revolving credit facility from ABN AMRO, ICS or ALFAM (including DEFAM, Credivance and Alpha Credit Nederland) but are no longer clients.
The call for former clients to register is based on the compensation scheme agreed between ABN AMRO and the Dutch Consumers’ Association on 5 September 2021. Current clients who are eligible for compensation will be contacted automatically, even if they no longer have an active revolving credit facility. Former clients should register online; the bank will then review whether they are eligible for compensation.
Former clients are urged to visit ABN AMRO Bank’s [MD1] website, which contains a special form that they can use to register: . It also provides further details about the compensation scheme and the procedure. ABN AMRO Bank [MD2] expects to be able to inform former clients about the further process in 2023.
