Scam alert

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a scam alert following the discovery of an attempt to clone ABN AMRO London Clearing Limited. In this instance scammers areattempting to pass themselves off as ABN AMRO London Clearing Limited through unsolicited emails, and potentially cold calls, with the aim of defrauding clients.

If you are in doubt about the authenticity of any contact that appears to be from ABN AMRO London Clearing Limited (or indeed any other financial services company) we strongly advise that you verify the company’s information against the Financial Services (FS) Register (which is updated daily).

To verify the identity of an authorised firm, ask for their FRN (Firm Reference Number) andcontact details, but always call them back on the switchboard number given on the FS Register. 

If there are no contact details on the FS Register, or the firm claims they are out of date,contact the FCA Helpline on 0800 111 6768.
