About us

Diversity & Inclusion

We strive to create a work environment where diversity is a core part of the culture within the Bank. By building an inclusive workforce here in the UK, we can leverage on the skills, ideas and talents and embed diversity into our journey over the coming years. Diversity is more than policies and procedures; it is an integral part of future operations and for the development of the Bank. Our purpose is to help make this happen.

What have we done?

"To attract, develop and retain female talent"

Alex Pharaoh, Head of legal at ABN AMRO and the UK Diversity and Inclusion Champion said: “I am delighted that ABN AMRO UK has committed to the Women in Finance Charter. Gender equality in the workspace is good for all of us and our focus to engage both male and female across the organisation to attract, develop and retain female talent, will provide us all with diverse perspectives, skill sets and experiences. We have put in a lot of work to get to this stage and we are fully aware that these targets only represent the beginning of our diversity journey. We need to keep up the hard work to embed a new culture and set of behaviours that will help us turn them into reality. I am confident that our organisation will create pathways that empower and enable all of our employees to succeed”.

Why diversity matters

In the McKinsey Study ‘Why Diversity Matters’ it states that Gender-diverse companies are 15% more likely to earn above-average revenue. As a Bank with a focus on sustainability, gender diversity will help us to continue to grow as an organisation and deliver relevant products and services to our clients as well as supporting a forward looking culture within the Bank.

Although our gender diversity targets for ABN AMRO UK may look somewhat modest, we believe they are realistic and achievable in the short term and will form a platform to build upon diversity in the years ahead.
