Supporting our clients’ transition to sustainability

Transitioning to a sustainable society together with our clients – that’s what we are working towards. That’s why we are making sustainability an integral part of our business. We offer specific expertise around sustainability that we are embedding in our products and services.

Sustainability is a key element of ABN AMRO’s strategy. Our overarching goal is to accelerate the sustainability shift. We do this primarily by supporting our clients in becoming more sustainable, because as a bank that is how we can make by far the greatest impact – by helping people make their homes, businesses or investments more sustainable. At the same time, of course, we’re also reducing our own footprint.

We focus on three themes: climate change, social impact and the circular economy & biodiversity.

Focus area

Climate change

Greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2 are causing the earth’s temperature to rise. Climate action is needed. That’s why ABN AMRO is helping clients in areas like making their homes and businesses more sustainable.
Focus area

Social impact

Social impact is about people, especially people in vulnerable situations, and begins with respect for human rights. Beyond that, we want to make a positive impact around financial inclusivity, financial resilience and equal opportunities. We want to tackle social challenges for and with our clients, and help build a society in which everyone can participate.
Focus area

Circular economy & biodiversity

We are rapidly depleting our natural resources. So we need to prevent waste and keep raw materials in circulation. ABN AMRO offers advice and loans to support companies that want to make their business circular.
